Al-Nisa Lawson-Herod earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications, Public Relations, and Journalism, from Monmouth University in 1997. Lawson-Herod has worked in the childcare field since 2010 as a Lead Teacher when she began her career in education. In addition to parenting a child with a disability, she is a Resource Advocate with the ARC of NC. She has been involved with programs like First in Families, The Autism Society, and other programs within the NC area. She is dedicated and passionate about providing excellent service, assisting others, connecting people with resources, and exceeding organizational goals within the IDD community. Lawson-Herod has expertise in communication skills and resource advocacy. She prides herself in being attentive to the needs of others.
